We can paint ANYTHING!

Here at H.I.S. Painting, we have a lot of personalities that make up our workforce.  We have talkers–we have listeners.  We have logical thinkers–we have heart thinkers.  All in all, we have a little bit of everything.  In a workplace, if personalities don’t blend, they conflict.  This is why we have decided to train our employees to understand and accept each other’s differences by using the MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE-INDICATOR evaluations.

To start, we had all of our employees take a quiz:

Secondly, we had a meeting and went through what each person’s personality description:

Afterwards, we discussed how the different personalities are what helps work progress–if understood correctly.  We pointed out that if we all take the time to understand why we all act the way we do, the work can go forward a lot smoother.  After all, it takes every member of a team, working together, to create success.

At H.I.S. Painting, we value the individual, but we understand the importance of creating a unified team.  By taking the time to do this, we are showing that in order to have a successful project, you have to have a successful team.  That is part of the H.I.S. Difference.  We care about every detail and we do our best to ensure that we are giving our customers quality work–right down to those who are performing the work.

We encourage every organization to try this out and see how it affects the cohesiveness of your company.

*Note:  This is not the quiz we took since the time expired, but it is a quiz dealing with MBTI

Just last week we had the amazing opportunity (as did everyone else in Central Florida) to see the last launch of the Discovery space shuttle!

The launch was magnificent! Can’t believe that people are actually in space as we speak! It was definitely a memorable experience and we are glad that we are located here on the Space Coast! What an opportunity!

There were so many people from all over the U.S. There was even one guy that hitchhiked all the way from Washington to get here. It was his 50th birthday. Traffic was completely stopped and RV’s were everywhere. It’s times when you watch incredible experiences, such as this, that embed an even stronger sense of patriotism.

“God bless the U.S.A.”

By now, most people in Brevard County know that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was just here a few weeks ago.  What most people don’t know, however, is how much “behind the scenes” takes place to make all the details of the project happen.  Enter: H.I.S. Painting.

When we heard the makeover team was coming to town, we knew we wanted to be a part of the project.  Ben and Meagan, two of our employees, went to the pep rally to get our name out there.  They spoke to the designers and before we knew it, we were painting a fuselage at 11:00 pm on a Sunday night!

It was because we have two HUGE blast and paint booths that we were able to handle the job required of us.  We’re talking about an actual central part of a Southwest Airlines plane that was donated to the cause.  Our booths are 60 feet long and can house just about any project.  We have done everything from nuts and bolts, to dump-trucks.  We have to say, however, this is the first plane that we have ever done, and we loved having the opportunity.

Where on earth did they put the fuselage, you ask?  Why inside of course!  The exterior was placed right inside the front door.  On one side was the foyer, and on the other was the kitchen.  If you haven’t watched the episode yet, now would be the time!  EXTREME MAKEOVER:  HOME EDITION/ HURSTON FAMILY

At the beginning of each new year, almost everyone makes a New Year’s Resolution.  At H.I.S. Painting, the new year means a fresh start for us as well!  We thought, “Why not make New Year’s Resolutions–but gear them towards our existing & potential customers?”  That is exactly what we have done.  We want to kick in 2011 with three things that will help us be what YOU are looking for in an industrial painting company:

1.  We will be PROFESSIONAL!  No matter what, we will be courteous, and give our customers respect.  We are professionals, don’t you think we should act like it?

2. We will be PROACTIVE!  At H.I.S. Painting we want to lead the painting industry, but we can’t lead unless we take action towards better service for everyone.  We will take the time to find your needs and fulfill them.

3.  We will bring you QUALITY! H.I.S. stands for HONESTY, INTEGRITY, SERVICE, and we wouldn’t give you anything less.  We are confident that the work we do will be what you need from a painting company, and this is our promise to do so!

Although these are three of our New Year’s resolutions, rest assured that it is not all we will be doing to give you the best customer service.  We will give you more than what is expected and we will be someone you want to come back to!
