By now, most people in Brevard County know that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was just here a few weeks ago. What most people don’t know, however, is how much “behind the scenes” takes place to make all the details of the project happen. Enter: H.I.S. Painting.
When we heard the makeover team was coming to town, we knew we wanted to be a part of the project. Ben and Meagan, two of our employees, went to the pep rally to get our name out there. They spoke to the designers and before we knew it, we were painting a fuselage at 11:00 pm on a Sunday night!
It was because we have two HUGE blast and paint booths that we were able to handle the job required of us. We’re talking about an actual central part of a Southwest Airlines plane that was donated to the cause. Our booths are 60 feet long and can house just about any project. We have done everything from nuts and bolts, to dump-trucks. We have to say, however, this is the first plane that we have ever done, and we loved having the opportunity.
Where on earth did they put the fuselage, you ask? Why inside of course! The exterior was placed right inside the front door. On one side was the foyer, and on the other was the kitchen. If you haven’t watched the episode yet, now would be the time! EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION/ HURSTON FAMILY
